The title of this work translates as "Bird of iron plumage." The phrase is taken from the poem, "Alturas de Macchu Picchu," by Pablo Neruda. The reference is to the legendary Phoenix, the great bird which immolates itself in its nest, only to rise again, renewed and restored, from its own ashes.
